Day #5: A Song That Reminds You Of Someone

This one was a tough one. There are so many songs out there that remind me of people. I was able to narrow it down to two. If you are completely opposed to anything sappy you might want to skip #1 and go directly to #2. I tried not to get too sappy but still, I would hate to initiate your gag reflex or anything.

#1 is My Best Friend by Weezer. Yes, I’m sure that you guessed that this song makes me think about my husband–gold star for you! It’s not just the title however, Weezer is B’s favorite band and he listened to their green album almost non-stop while we were dating and engaged. When Weezer came out with this song I officially declared it B’s song.

Song #2 is dedicated to brother #1. When B and I were moving from New York to Washington D.C. a few years ago, brother #1 was kind enough to make the journey with us. It was on the drive down from New York that the dance to Low was born. It’s probably better that there weren’t any witnesses–other than B–to the dance. We made a pact that what happens in the Uhaul stays in the Uhaul. However, now when I hear Low on the radio or blaring from the speakers at some teenage clothing store at the mall, I can’t help but think of Brother #1 dancing to the poetic words “Shorty had them apple bottom jeans, boots with the fur…” Good times.
